How to Delete Your Data

Since SeChat stores all data locally on your device and does not maintain server-side accounts, you can delete all your data by following these simple steps:

Primary Method: Profile Menu

Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner of the app

Select "Delete Session" from the dropdown menu

Confirm by clicking "Delete Session" in the confirmation alert

This is the recommended method as it properly cleans up all session data and encryption keys.

Uninstall the App

Remove SeChat from your device through your app store or device settings

Clear App Data

Go to your device settings and clear all data for the SeChat app

Why is this so simple?

SeChat is designed with privacy in mind. We don't collect or store your personal data on our servers, so there's no complex data deletion process. Your data lives on your device, and you have complete control over it. The easiest way is through the profile menu's "Delete Session" option.

What about other users?

When you delete your data, it only affects your device. Other users' devices will still contain their copies of the conversations. This is how peer-to-peer messaging works - each device maintains its own copy.

Can I recover deleted data?

No. Once you delete the app or clear app data, all your messages and data are permanently removed. We don't maintain backups, so there's no way to recover deleted data.
